The uST Solution Is Being Considered for Integration With Seaports
DP World is interested in employing the uST Solution in maritime transportation. In this regard, Oleg Zaretsky, the CEO of uScovery DMCC, and Shahil Anuf, Director of iSky Transport Systems Pvt Ltd, met with representatives of the port operator in India. The parties discussed the possibilities of integrating the uST elevated complexes into ongoing and upcoming port projects.
During the meeting, they paid special attention to the advantages of the uST cargo complexes – uCont, uTruck, and uTrans. Thus, uTruck and uTrans are suitable for optimization of marine logistics and transportation of raw materials. And uCont can be an efficient solution for cargo delivery to an international container terminal or railroad terminal inside a port.
"Second-level transport can act as a link between the port and logistics hubs. This will considerably reduce the time and cost of cargo delivery. The uST complexes will ensure uniform pace of cargo handling and, if necessary, can completely eliminate storage volumes on the port territory," commented Dmitry Tikhonov, Chief Designer of Cargo Transport Complex at UST Inc.
By using an elevated string rail overpass, seaports can be built far from the shore. This will eliminate the work and costs required to build ports near land in the case of sea transportation. The uPods will ensure smooth and automatic delivery of goods along the track structure connecting port and land.
DP World representatives invited UST Inc. engineers to visit existing ports to explore applications of the uST Solution.
For reference
DP World is one of the world's largest port operators. The company owns 78 sea and inland terminals, as well as the world's largest industrial park Jebel Ali Free Zone.
