New Steps for uST Implementation in Nepal: Project for a Province and Delegation Visit to uSky
Representatives from Nepal’s Department of Railways visited uSky Test & Certification Center in Sharjah. The delegation was interested in uST technology as a potential solution for modernizing the South Asian republic's railway infrastructure. The meeting marked a continuation of cooperation with the country’s government institutions. Nepalese authorities are currently considering the construction of a string rail track in one of the eastern provinces.
Promising Partnership
The visit was part of a study on advanced transportation technologies suitable for challenging terrains. Nepal’s mountainous landscape makes the construction of traditional railways difficult, and the country is seeking alternative solutions to ensure sustainable connectivity for their territories. uST Transport & Infrastructure Complexes are being considered as an optimal option for establishing fast, safe, and affordable transportation, even in areas with uneven terrain.
During their visit to uSky Center, the guests familiarized themselves with the operation of all system components, toured the control room, and personally tested tropical uPods, experiencing their comfort and safety firsthand. The delegates recognized the potential of UST Inc.’s developments in addressing Nepal’s transportation challenges.
At the conclusion of the visit, both parties expressed interest in further collaboration. The department representatives stated their intention to conduct an in-depth analysis of the uST technology and explore the possibility of integrating it into Nepal’s existing transportation system.
Project for a Country's Province
At the same time, cooperation continues with the authorities of a province in eastern Nepal. A decision is being made on the construction of a 7-km string rail track section along a route that will connect two cities. In the future, the network could be expanded to 83 km. The project has received support from the province’s investment authority and infrastructure department. A feasibility study is underway, along with negotiations on financial and legal matters.
The application of uST complexes could contribute to tourism development, improve logistics, and reduce travel times between Nepal’s key regions. These elevated high-speed solutions have the potential to meet the transportation needs of urbanized areas and complex landscapes while preserving the country's unique terrain and causing no harm to nature.
