The First Episode of “UST Inside”: Maksim Kubyshkin Speaks on the Future of Urban Transport
The first episode of the new “UST Inside” series has been released, featuring Maksim Kubyshkin, the Deputy General Director for Designing at UST Inc. In the interview, he shared how emerging transportation technologies can transform the lives of millions.
A key highlight of the conversation was the concept of the linear city, where residents spend just 5–6 minutes getting to the nearest uST station, and urban growth is driven by the addition of new clusters rather than increasing population density.
Maksim Kubyshkin emphasized that such solutions help prevent traffic collapse and improve urban quality of life without separating people from nature. He also discussed UST’s international projects – from tourist routes in India to improving logistics in Nepal, where string transport could become a catalyst for regional development.
Maksim Kubyshkin dispelled myths about the complexity and cost of uST technology, explained why the design process takes years, and shared his principles of engineering minimalism: “An object should be beautiful, but above all – efficient and functional.”
The interview is filled with vivid examples, unexpected comparisons, and personal stories, making it a must-watch for anyone interested in the future of cities and transportation.
