Improved uFlash is Ready for Testing
High-speed uPod for passenger transportation is installed on the track structure in EcoTechnoPark. After the upgrade, uFlash will have to undergo series of research tests that will follow the commissioning works. Earlier during the improvements, it was managed to reduce the drag coefficient of the model up to 0.06. For comparison, the Formula-1 bolide coefficient is equal to 0.70.
uFlash U4-362 has been returned to EcoTechnoPark track structure (Maryina Gorka, Belarus) after refinements. To improve comfort, the frame and other components have been optimized, as well as the suspension was carried out. SV Plant production specialists have simultaneously tested the suspension elements to determine the ride smoothness during the uPod movement along the string rail overpass. After commissioning with trial runs, it is planned to check uFlash in action. For this, the series of research tests will be organized.
High-speed uPod is designed for passenger transportation at speeds up to 500 km/h. The optimal design solution made it possible to reduce the aerodynamic drag and minimize energy consumption when driving at high speed. uFlash can be used both for intercity and international passenger transportation. The uST transport and infrastructure complex equipped with high-speed uPods is able to carry up to 100 million passengers annually.
